This activity, run under ESA tender AO/1-9754/19/NL/CLP, developed a multi-band microwave multiport power combiner for ground terminals — a network that aggregates the output of several amplifier paths into a single port while controlling insertion loss and inter-port isolation. Efficient combining is central to reaching the output power required at millimetre-wave frequencies, where single-device power is limited.
