A design house built around one interface
Antecnica is an independent, fabless mm-wave design house — a spin-off of the University of Calabria — that treats the antenna and the integrated circuit as a single engineering problem.
Antecnica S.r.l.s. was founded as an academic spin-off of the University of Calabria (UNICAL) in Rende (CS), Italy. We design radio-frequency and millimetre-wave systems in which the antenna and the silicon are conceived together — from beamforming and front-end ICs to complete phased-array apertures.
Our work spans the K, Ka, E and W bands for satellite communications, 5G/6G non-terrestrial networks and dual-use applications. Being fabless, we are not tied to one process: SiGe BiCMOS, bulk CMOS and FD-SOI are selected according to the needs of each programme.
How we operate
We take programmes from architecture and feasibility studies through to validated hardware. Depending on the engagement we act as a design subcontractor, a research partner in collaborative programmes, or the prime contractor accountable for a full deliverable.
Programmes
- European Space Agency — prime contractor for a Ka-band on-chip diplexer.
- National (PNRR) programme — partner in a project led by Politecnico di Milano.
- Dual-use — feasibility study conducted for a European prime.
Fabless & independent
No foundry ties. The right process for each design.
UNICAL spin-off
